Puppy Food
The puppies are started on puppy food around 3 - 4 weeks old (we start the puppies out with softened food.) The puppies are fully weaned when they go to their new homes. They love to eat! We feed our puppies the Kirkland brand puppy food from Costco. It is a very good quality puppy food and our puppies love it. It is in a yellow bag, and is the chicken, rice and vegetable formula. We encourage you to keep your puppy on this puppy food! If you ever decide to switch puppy foods, you should do it gradually. Slowly mix a little of the new puppy food with your puppy's current food, gradually increasing the new food amount.
While the puppies are in our care, we feed them twice a day, once in the morning and evening. The suggested amount to feed your 6-11 week old puppy, that weighs 5-10 pounds is 1 1/4 - 2 cups a day. You can gradually increase the amount as your puppy grows. A 10 - 20 lb. puppy can have 2 - 3 1/3 cups of food a day.

Puppy Vaccinations and De-worming
We de-worm our puppies two times, before they go to their new homes. The puppies are de-wormed with Panacur, which is an oral de-wormer from our vet. The puppies are de-wormed at 4 and 6 weeks old, with two, three day courses.
The puppies are given their first puppy vaccination at 6 weeks old. The puppies will be due for their next vaccination at 9 weeks old. It would best to get your puppy started with your vet on their recommended vaccination and de-worming schedule, as soon as possible.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What does my puppy come home with?
Your new puppy comes home with LOTS of joy and love to give! We know you will be so happy with your new Aussie puppy! The puppies have had their dew-claws removed, tails docked, first puppy vaccination and two de-wormings. They are very healthy and love everyone! The puppies also go home with their AKC registration papers and a little bag of their current puppy food.
